The Kid’s Korner Preschool Spring Newsletter
Dear Parents,
The weather is clear and crisp outdoors! This is the perfect weather for the children at The Kid’s Korner to explore nature and get ready for planting! At the end of April our Kid’s Korner friends will be planting in the front courtyard and backyard. If you have a green thumb or not, help us plant and volunteer to spruce up our entryway! No experience necessary. Be prepared to get dirty and have a lot of laughs. Ms. Kaity, our gardening expert will be on hand to help parents and children. Please contact Kaity at kaity@thekidskornerpreschool.com if you would like to volunteer in any way.
Our Kid’s Korner teachers will also be planning their class end of year trips. Some of our trips have included the Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, Museum of Natural History and a Central Park picnic. Please look out for the emails from the teacher about your child’s exciting end of year trip.
We will also have our annual Mother’s Day Bake Sale and Plant Sale on Thursday, May 10th. Plants will be for sale at a reasonable cost for each child. We will also have extras if you would like to purchase flowers for family and friends. The cost will be determined and announced before the event. The children are all smiles and enjoy picking out a flower for their loved ones.
The Kid’s Korner Bake Sale will be outdoors in the front court yard. The cost of baked goods will be $2 per package and $1 for coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
- Reminders:
- Our Annual MDA Hop-A-Thon will kick off on Thursday, April 19th. The Hop will begin at 10:00am in the backyard. Everyone is invited to hop! Please return MDA donation forms by Thursday, April 19th.
- Gardening Day with Ms. Kaity will be on Monday, April 30th. We need volunteers to pick up flowers and plant with Ms. Kaity and the Kid’s Korner children.
- Mother’s Day Bake Sale and Plant Sale will be on Thursday, May 10th. We will need a chair to coordinate event.
- The Kid’s Korner teachers will have their end of year phone calls from Monday, May 21st through Friday, May 25t. Please look out for sign up sheets outside your child’s classroom door.
- We are still accepting applications for our 2′s and 3′s afternoon programs and for our pre-kindergarten programs. Please let friends know of our availability.
- Summer applications are now on the Kids Korner website. Reserve your space!
- The Kid’s Korner will be closed on Monday, May 28th to observe Memorial Day.
Please be advised that The Kid’s Korner Office Hours are 9:15-4:30. Please feel free to visit Yolanda, Jennifer or Kaity in the office for questions or concerns. If you would like to meet with one of us before or after office hours, please call for an appointment. We are happy to work with your family’s schedule. We can also be reached via email. Reminder! Please lock up your stroller if you are going to leave it in The Kid’s Korner front courtyard. We cannot be responsible for stolen strollers. Thank you for your cooperation.
